The road of life can be pain filled. At times you wonder if you can make it.
I grieved for many years. Yet, no one knew it. I kept it under wraps. I loved my privacy more so and I loved perfectionism too much. They both were false idols. I smashed them. I now understand that during my brother’s death, it is like God lanced my heart open to allow the buried pain of my story leak out.
So how do you grieve?
1. Admit it, you are hurt. You lost a loved one or something that you held precious or even a dream. Grief comes in many sizes and packages. So grieve and give yourself permission to grieve. If you do not grieve it may come back to bite you and you will get stuck in life.
Invite the Lord into your pain and ask Him to heal you. Time is needed here…months, years. But God does heal.
- Start thanking God for any good that can come from the loss.
I am a grief-loss coach.I know pain and death, loss, broken dreams and you name it. It bites. Hurts. Stings. Broken to pieces. Let God redeem. Restore. Replenish.
